Update 4/5/2020: COULD HYDROXYCHLOROQUINE CHANGE CORONAVIRUS COVID-19 OUTCOME?

President Donald Trump is still very excited about the prospect of hydroxychloroquine in combination with certain antibiotics as possible breakthrough treatment for the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic. “So I want to keep them out of ventilators, I want to keep them -- if this drug works, it will be not a game changer because that's not a nice enough term. It will be wonderful, it'll be so beautiful, it'll be a gift from heaven if it works,” Trump said during the other day’s press conference.

During the press conference, Trump said hydroxychloroquine could be a “gift from heaven” if it works in treating coronavirus infection. He also somberly hinted at how few people survive once put on a ventilator, making the need for early treatment options more urgent.
