Updates 9.27.2020: Google Is Silencing Senator Tom Cotton And Others, Via Algorithm

This is wild. Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR) is the subject of what appears to be intentional targeted censorship by Google’s free email service, Gmail. Listen to today’s short episode for all the details.

As pointed out in the episode, the DOJ should not limit their anti-trust investigation of Google to the company’s “search practices,” as the Tom Cotton email issue — as well as Google’s mass deplatforming of Trump supporters on its video platform, YouTube, about three years ago — provides evidence the company’s bias extends far beyond its search engine business.

Thousands of spam messages fill my Gmail inbox, but a newsletter I actually signed up for is the one Google’s AI targets for an unsubscribe prompt? Unusual, to say the least.
