What Is ObamaGate? And Why Now?

The term “ObamaGate” cruised to the top of this evening’s national Twitter trends, with a whopping 3.72 million mentions on the social media platform so far.

Barack Obama’s Verified Twitter account has already been heavily “ratioed,” a term meaning his recent tweets have a far higher number of comments and replies than retweets or favorites, suggesting an angry public that is engaging with Obama’s content - yet not willing to retweet his views.

What is ObamaGate, and why is it trending on May 11, 2020 when Obama has been out of office for nearly four years? Read our article to get a head start on this explosive scandal here.

Think we’re exaggerating? Oh no: Malik Obama, Barack’s half-brother, just days earlier made it clear on Twitter that the rabbit hole could be revealed to be a deep one, indeed.

And now OBAMAGATE cruises to the top of Twitter after President Trump mysteriously tells a reporter, asking what Obama did wrong, “Obamagate!”

Sure, superficially Obamagate is the claim perhaps that Obama spied on the incoming new administration — and tried to slow Trump with an unnecessary and unlawfully biased investigation as well. Yet why did Obama go to such absurd lengths in the first place, when he was an outgoing President — at the time still popular with many — who was allowed to carry out the full length of both of his Presidential terms… so why all the attempts to slow down and screw over the next administration?

That’s what the American people, and the world, may find out in the days ahead.

UPDATE: Now the term is above 4.01 million mentions on Twitter, making it one of the most viral trends in 2020 so far.
