BREAKING: 'Strong' Geomagnetic Storm Watch (G3) For October 30 AND October 31, 2021 Issued By NOAA

Looks like NOAA’s space weather team has expanded its strong or G3 level geomagnetic storm watch to October 31, 2021 — originally it only covered October 30.

Also of interest to readers, NOAA’s Space Weather Prediction Center explained their reasoning for the watch: “Geomagnetic Storm Watch is in effect for 30 – 31 October, 2021, following a significant solar flare and Coronal Mass Ejection”.

Time lapse imagery on their web site (screenshot below) shows the strong burst from the Sun as the coronal mass ejection, or CME, moves outward.
