One Of China's Wealthiest Investors, Jack Ma, Has Vanished

Jack Ma, Chinese billionaire and founder of China’s e-commerce giant Alibaba, has been missing for several weeks — ominously just after making public comments critical of China’s powerful financial regulators.

Ma has “disappeared” as a judge on a Chinese television show, similar to The Apprentice or Shark Tank, according to a report from The Telegraph.

Ma’s absence from the TV show he stars on, combined with no public appearances over the last several weeks and no clear statement from his press people, have some suggesting Chinese authorities may have detained Ma.

The Shanghai Stock Exchange recently suspended a $37 billion IPO of Ant Group, which Jack Ma is a listed cofounder of, providing more evidence that authorities may have soured on the Chinese tech billionaire.
